- [Veraison](https://chateau-monichot.com/?p=1339): Good news from the Vineyard- Our grapes are reaching one of the final stages before harvest. “Veraison” We can now estimate that the harvest may be mid September for our red wines if we continue with this weather pattern. If you are interested in helping out with the harvest, even for a day contact us and we can arrange it. Good fun, hard physical work, lots of food and wine in the evening !! Bring a tent and stay over.

A salon is a concept like an exhibition where the public can come and discover/buy wine direct from the winemaker. In February we went to Le Havre and participated in the salon Aux Vignobles. This salon hosts fine wines and food from regions all over France. We were there for 4 days, and it was very busy. We poured many tastings of our wine. - [Why Organic?](https://chateau-monichot.com/?p=1083): Our challenges in 2023. This year, the weather has played havoc with our vineyard. Lots of lovely rain (good for growing) and lots of sunshine has led to an unusually humid atmosphere which has not been good for our grapes. Mildew The first signs of mildew developing on the leaves of our vines was back in May. - [Féte Le Vin](https://chateau-monichot.com/?p=591): This week starting on Thursday the 22nd June, starts the annual event in the Bordeaux Wine calendar of “Féte Le Vin”. This is a great opportunity to visit Bordeaux and see and taste the wines of the Bordeaux region that are being offered. Our region, the appellation Côtes de Bourg and many others will be represented by numerous of our fellow vignerons who make outstanding wine. If you wish to plan a trip to this event or looking for accommodation nearby, why not come and stay with us at Château Monichot just 35 mins away from the event.

- [Bed & Breakfast](https://chateau-monichot.com/?page_id=275): All our rooms have their own en-suite shower room and are air-conditioned. The beds are a minimum of 160 x 200 (king-size) with environmentally friendly and sustainably sourced cotton bedding. Luxury Towels and toiletries provided.
